PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil coating applicator which is capable of preventing the occurrence of an abnormal image. SOLUTION: The oil coating applicator 1 having an oil feed section 21 for feeding oil to the surface of a fixing belt 3 for fixing an unfixed image of transfer paper has a shutter member 23 for opening and closing an oil feed port 20 of the oil feed section 21, in which the shutter member 23 opens the oil feed port 20 in compliance with the threading width of the transfer paper. As a result, oil coating application meeting the size of the transfer paper is made possible and the coating application of the oil in the non-threading segment of the fixing belt 3 can be prevented and therefore the uniformity of the oil is enhanced and the occurrence of the abnormal image, such as a defect of glossiness, can be prevented.
