SPUN YARN EXCELLENT IN SOFTNESS AND CUTTING RESISTANCE AND PROTECTIVE MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spun yarn not only excellent in cutting resistance, but also excellent in softness, sweat-absorbing property and lightweight feeling. SOLUTION: This spun yarn is composed of (A) a polyvinyl alcohol-based fiber and (B) a polyarylate-based fiber and satisfies all of the following conditions (1) to (5): (1) the component A has >=10 g/dtex tensile strength and 90-200 mm average fiber length; (2) the component B has >=20 g/dtex tensile strength and 90-200 mm average fiber length; (3) the weight ratio of the component A to the component B is (10/90) to (80/20); (4) the thickness of the spun yarn is 10 to 35 counts and (5) the twist factor of the spun yarn is 2.0 to 3.5.
