<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a quinophthalone compound having high water solubility and excellent light resistance, and to prepare a water-soluble ink using the quinophthalone compound, having excellent light stability, moisture stability and storage stability, and useful as a recording liquid in an inkjet recording method. SOLUTION: A water-soluble quinophthalone compound of formula (1) and usage of the compound. The quinophthalone compound has a high water solubility, and excellent light resistance and moisture resistance. An aqueous ink prepared by using the quinophthalone compound also exhibits excellent light resistance and storage stability. Especially, when the water-soluble ink is used in an inkjet recording method, it works as an excellent recording liquid having high quality and high light resistance. A concrete example of the quinophthalone compound is a compound having the another chemical structure.</p> |
