摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-quality liquid crystal display device capable of realizing high-speed responsiveness without generating an afterimage. SOLUTION: In this liquid crystal display device, liquid crystal is driven by a strong electric field and a uniform transverse electric field in the initial period in one frame and it is driven by uniform transverse electric fields in the latter period in the frame by arranging third electrodes different from a common electrode and a pixel electrode and by changing electric potential of these third electrodes in the frame.
