PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diversity device capable of always obtaining the best reception state by immediately switching antennas even when a picture is distorted due to a multipath or the like. SOLUTION: This diversity device is provided with an antenna switching part 2 for selecting a particular antenna among a plurality of antennas (1a to 1d), a high frequency receiving part 3 for outputting a signal received with the antenna as a video signal, a synchronization separating part 7 for separating the video signal from the high frequency receiving part 3 into a vertical or horizontal synchronizing signal, the number of horizontal synchronizing signals counting part 8 for counting horizontal synchronizing signals, and a diversity controlling part 6 which can detect vertical synchronizing signals, outputs a signal for making the antenna switching part 2 switch antennas every prescribed time interval, and also outputs a signal for making the antenna switching part 2 switch antennas regardless of an time interval if the number of horizontal synchronizing signals counted by the number of horizontal synchronizing signals counting part 8 is out of a defined range.
