STORAGE MEDIUM LIBRARY SYSTEM AND FILE INFORMATION MANAGING METHOD IN THE SAME SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use and operate a freely attachable/detachable and portable storage medium housed in a storage medium library system by bringing it in the other storage medium library system. SOLUTION: The real data part of data to be written is cached in a hard disk being a non-volatile memory, and file management information related with the data is stored in a prescribed region in the non-volatile memory. Also, the cached real data part is written in the designated freely attachable/ detachable and portable storage medium. At an arbitrary point of time after the file management information is stored in the prescribed region of the non- volatile memory, the file management information is copied from the prescribed region of the hard disk to the freely attachable/detachable and portable storage medium for storing the management information.
