PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a placed article overturn prevention device to prevent breakage, etc., of an ornament such as a curio, a flower vase, etc., as it falls sideways even at the time when an earthquake occurs. SOLUTION: This placed article overturn prevention device is constituted of a fixed body 3 with at least four pieces of bottom boards 31-34 having shallow recessed surfaces on them, bearing balls 4, 4... housed in the recessed surfaces of each of the bottom boards of the fixed body, a piece of movable body 5 placed on each of the bearing balls and a friction body 6 provided on the fixed body and made elastically pressure contact with a back surface of the movable body.
