PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of obtaining a good image without needing any alternation of an image forming condition while securing good fixation irrespective of the kind of recording materials. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with a plurality of image carriers 102 (Y, M, C and BK) for forming toner images, a plurality of primary transfer parts 40 (Y, M, C and BK) arranged side by side so as to successively transfer the images formed on respective image carriers to an intermediate transfer body 301, a secondary transfer part 50 for transferring the image transferred to the intermediate transfer body 301 to a recording material 151, and a fixing part 60 for fixing the transferred image on the recording material. When a distance between the secondary transfer part 50 and the fixing part 40BK is Lf, and the maximum length of the recording material 151 in the carrying direction is Lp, Lf>Lp is satisfied. |
