PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method, an image detecting method and an image forming apparatus by which density detection accuracy by a detection sensor is improved regardless of the target density level of an image for control and an image forming condition is excellently controlled by improving the density detection accuracy of the image for the control. SOLUTION: This image forming method has a process to form a first image for the control on an image carrier 1 by image forming means 2, 4y, 4c, 4m and 4bk, a process to detect the density of the first image by the detection sensor 13, a process to form a second image for the control whose target density level is lower than that of the first image on the image carrier 1 by the image forming means 2, 4y, 4c, 4m and 4bk and a process to detect the density of the second image by the detection sensor 13, and the image forming means 2, 4y, 4c, 4m and 4bk form the second image so that the size of the second image is larger than that of the first image. |
