PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce costs by accurately ascertaining the life of a fixing roller and effectively using the fixing roller. SOLUTION: History of jams caused by a transfer material wrapped round a fixing roller and by a claw is recorded. The life of the fixing roller is ascertained by determining whether the count of jams per paper passed through is higher than a set value or not. The apparatus informs a user of the need to replace the fixing roller. |
