PURPOSE: A power off apparatus for an air conditioner is provided to stop working of electric components in the air conditioner when a component forming the air conditioner is separated. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of contact point protrusions(74) are formed on a rear side of a suction grill(70) to extend backward. Contact points(75) are placed on front ends of the contact point protrusions to be electrically connected with each other. The contact point protrusions penetrate installation holes formed on a front panel(60) and are mounted in concave grooves(136) of contact point supports formed on an inside discharge guide(130). Spring contact points(137) are placed in the concave grooves to contact with the contact points of the contact point protrusions. One of the spring contact points is connected with one of input end of an AND gate(192) in the control box through a connecting line(138). The other spring contact point is connected with a power supply side. A button(200) is connected with the other input end of the AND gate to operate load. An output end of the AND gate is connected with the load.
