PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter with which well-balanced color purity in a pixel is obtainable and a liquid crystal display device using the same. SOLUTION: The color filter colors the first light L1 exhibiting a unidirectional optical path and the second light L2 exhibiting a bidirectional optical path for each pixel. The filter contains the first regional part 10t to transmit the first light L1 and the second regional part 10r to transmit the second light L2 for each pixel. The first regional part 10t and the second regional part 10r have structures to exhibit mutually different coloring effects when light with the identical optical path and the identical characteristics is transmitted therethrough.
