PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the usability of a battery, to extend a service life by preventing over charge even if charge and discharge of the battery are repeated and to correctly estimate the battery service life, in relation to a battery service life estimation method and a device using a battery unit. SOLUTION: This estimation method is so structured that when the service life of the battery unit having plural battery cells connected in series is estimated in the device using the battery unit, the respective voltages of the plural battery cells are compared and the service life of the battery unit is estimated based on the maximum voltage and the minimum voltage within the compared voltages of the plural battery cells.
