PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display method capable of selectively displaying image information composed of still images or moving images, especially advertisement information, depending on presence/absence of a person. SOLUTION: A plurality of monitor sets 102a-102n for which one monitor 2a-2n and one sensor 1a-1n are one set are included and one piece of the image information to be displayed is set for each monitor set 102a-102n. When a detection signal indicating the presence of a person is outputted from a specified sensor 1a-1n, the image information is selectively displayed on the monitor 2a-2n constituting a set with the sensor 1a-1n. When the detection signal indicating the absence of a person is outputted, display of the image information on the monitor 2a-2n is selectively stopped. In the meantime, the image information to be displayed is circulated among the respective monitor sets 102a-102n every time a fixed period elapses or at every fixed number of times of display.
