PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a light emitting part from inadvertently turning around a 1st rotary shaft by being affected by a connection cord connecting the light emitting part and a control part. SOLUTION: This stroboscope for close-up photography is constituted of the control part incorporating a circuit for controlling the stroboscope and attached to a camera, the light emitting parts 102 and 103 performing 1st turning around the 1st turning shaft (i), attached to the edge of the lens barrel of the lens 302 of the camera and incorporating a xenon tube, and the connection cord 16 electrically connecting the light emitting part and the control part, and is equipped with a 1st holding means having holding power to hold the light emitting part at an optional rotational angle around the 1st turning shaft and allowing the 1st turning from the optional rotational angle when 1st rotational torque larger than the holding power is applied in the light emitting part. Then, the connection cord is attached to a position adjacent to the 1st turning shaft of the light emitting part so that its axial direction may be parallel with the direction of the 1st turning shaft.
