PURPOSE: A reinforcing structure for a joining area of a cross member and a vehicle body frame is provided to improve absorbing impact of side-on collision by reinforcing flexural rigidity and torsional rigidity on the joining area of the cross member and the vehicle body frame. CONSTITUTION: A reinforcing structure for a joining area of a cross member(2) and a vehicle body frame(1) has the cross member and a joining reinforcement(5). A holding groove(3) is formed to the frame. A tip flange is formed to the cross member. The tip flange is welded to a rear surface(4b) of the frame by penetrating the holding groove. The cross member is also welded to a side flange(1a) of the frame. Thereby, the cross member is welded in three surfaces. The joining reinforcement covers both sides and a lower surface of the cross member. Therefore, impact of side-on collision is absorbed by reinforcing rigidity of a joining portion.
