PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable anyone to readily play a preferred piece of music by his/her own music box. SOLUTION: A vibration valve 21 of a comb 2 is driven by an actuator 31 and sound of the music box is generated. The music piece data of an MIDI format are supplied from a music piece data external memory B to a format conversion part b and they are converted to the music piece data of a format for the music box in the format conversion part b and stored in an internal memory c. A turntable 4 is rotated by a handle 5 and pulse signalsϕA corresponding to rotation are counted. A stepping counter f is advanced when matching of sound generation timing data and a count value is detected by a matching detection part j and next musical note data are read from the internal memory c. Pitch data are detected in a pitch detection part k, touch data are detected in a touch detection part m and the actuator 31 is driven corresponding to a pitch and a touch. Or, the music piece data are supplied by a network.
