PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that shortens the length of time that a user has to wait unnecessarily, by adjusting the timing of the start of process control according to use conditions. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes process control for adjusting a quantity of light of a discharge lamp, electrification potential, development potential, etc., thereby obtaining a stable density image, and is capable of printing on both sides. The image forming apparatus is provided with an adjusting means (step 23) that adjusts the timing of the carrying out of the process control based upon a monochrome-color ratio. |
