PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recorded video reproducing device capable of simply confirming a program recorded on a recording medium without deteriorating the operability. SOLUTION: The recorded video reproducing device 1 assigns programs to division display areas resulting from dividing a display area of an entire display picture and displays typical pictures. There are a plurality of the typical pictures. The recorded video reproducing device 1 sequentially switches the representative picture of the program assigned to the selected division display area. Since the device 1 switches a plurality of the representative pictures by each prescribed time without displaying them at the same time, the device 1 can display the representative picture in a display size providing excellent visibility. Further, since the number of programs whose representative picture is displayed on the display screen of the display device is not decreased, contents of the recorded programs can simply be confirmed without deteriorating the operability for the user.
