PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a panel unit for the facing of a building, capable of securing the practical strength by using a thin metal panel about point several millimeters thick and preventing a screw head from being exposed to a joint to dispense with sealing. SOLUTION: The end part of the metal panel 1 is bent to form a fitting groove 13 in the outer periphery, and a core frame material 14 such as wood is fitted in the fitting groove 13 to dispose a fixing frame part 10 also serving as a reinforcement. On the other hand, furring strips 2 are formed by a pair of split furring strip members mutually slidable to enable formation and non- formation of a joint 17. A screw 6 is threaded in the fixing frame part 10 from the back of each furring strip, and the panel 1 is fitted to the furring strips 2 without exposure of the screw between the adjacent panels 1.
