PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method and a manufacturing device for satisfactorily manufacturing a phase transition type information recording medium, to provide a condition for manufacturing the same and to obtain a phase transition type information recording medium satisfactory in quality using the manufacturing method and device therefor. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method for the phase transition type information recording medium includes an initialization stage wherein the recording medium is held by at least two holding points having radial values different from each other.
