A molten strand feeding device having a strand cutting apparatus. In the device, a movable unit is placed at the upper end of a cooling trough so that it is movable linearly in a direction parallel to the nozzle surface thus improving the strand cutting effect at the very beginning of the molten strand emerging from the nozzles. The cooling trough is coupled to a hinged joint at the rear center and is selectively rotatable relative to the nozzle surface so that the device is selectively changed between the horizontal and vertical types. A spring-biased strand cutting apparatus is provided at the upper end of the movable unit so that the cutting apparatus is brought into close contact with the nozzle surface and smoothly moves on the nozzle surface without giving an impact on the nozzle surface, thus improving the strand cutting effect. <IMAGE> |
