The sprinkler has modular direction-reversible drive unit, adjuster, and sprinkler head. The head is axially fixed relative to the drive unit by a water-containing hollow shaft and holders. Hollow shaft and head are moved about a pivot axis and sealed against the drive unit housing. The adjuster has a ring aperture engaging around the hollow shaft, and is located between sprinkler head and drive, moveable relative to shaft and drive unit housing. The modular units may be used in combination with different adjusters and sprinkler heads.
