The present invention relates to a control device (1) for performing operations in vehicles or craft, in particular for operations for controlling boats. In particular, the device is the wheel (3) for controlling a rudder of a boat. The rudder-control wheel (3) comprises an annular element which can be gripped and which is supported by a support element (7'') having openings (4 and 4'), generally the decking of the hull. The annular element is housed in the openings in the support element (7'') leaving a residual portion (3') outside, in a manner such that an obstruction-free window (3'') is defined between the residual portion (3') and the outer surface (7') of the support element (7'') in order to prevent accidents to operators performing operations to control the boat.
