A recording medium recording method for recording an information signal on a recording medium having a plurality of recording layers. When recording an information signal on a recoding medium having a light transmittance protection layer 6, a first recording layer 5 for scanning a laser beam incident from the light transmittance protection layer 6 along a first guide groove 51, and a second recording layer 3 for scanning a laser beam incident from the light transmittance protection layer 6 along a second guide groove 21, an information signal is recorded in the guide groove or on an area between the guide grooves on the recording layer, i.e., the first recording layer 5 or the second recording layer 3 which is located at the side of the light transmittance protection layer 6. |
