The power management system (100) may include a real­time clock (124), an input/output device (126), a radio frequency front-end (122) and an SPS engine (120) in signal communication with the real-time clock, input/output device and radio frequency front-end, the SPS engine capable of powering down itself, the input/output device and radio frequency front-end in response to determining a mode of operation.
