A transparent substrate capable of improving the light extracting efficiency of an organic electroluminescence element, and an organic electroluminescence element high in luminous efficiency and excellent in mass-production efficiency using this substrate. An organic electroluminescence element-use transparent substrate characterized by providing on the opposite surfaces of a transparent substrate at least one layer of optical interference film having a refraction index and a film thickness that reduce a reflection quantity for light emitted from a light emitting layer, an organic electroluminescence element having the transparent substrate.
