Method for determining the effect of a substance (I) on the specific interaction between two binding partners (BP1, BP2). Method for determining the effect of a substance (I) on the specific interaction between two binding partners (BP1, BP2) comprises preparation of a synthetic particle (A) with BP1 immobilized on it; (b) preparing soluble, fluorescently labeled BP2; (c) incubating (I) with BP1 and BP2 so that it can compete with BP2 for binding to BP1; and (d) determining the fluorescent label on the particle, where the intensity of fluorescence is indirectly proportional to the effect of the test compound on the interaction. An Independent claim is also included for a reagent kit for the process comprising (A) with BP1 attached; soluble BP2; agent for detecting the ligand through fluorescent labeling and a collection of (I) being tested.
