FIELD: electric heating. SUBSTANCE: fan heater has housing, screened inlet and outlet, fan, electric heaters with fastening members, control unit, and thermostatic switch; novelty is that fan heater is provided with frames arranged in tandem inside housing of which one frame that mounts fan is disposed near inlet and other one accommodating electric heaters is placed near outlet; electric heaters are made in the form of stack of flat rectangular ceramic plates arranged in parallel one on top of other, each plate being coated on one side with composite ceramic resistive layer incorporating insulating and conducting phases; extreme sides of each plate are electrically connected in parallel; fastening members of electric heaters are made in the form of flexible clamps secured on two contacts connected through insulators to frame supports near outlet; each plate has width-to-length ratio ranging within , where L is plate length and B is its width, pitch-to-width ratio, within , where t is plate pitch, and plate to-resistive layer thickness ratio, within DELTA, where delta is plate thickness and is resistive layer thickness; ratio of frame-to-frame distance l to equivalent diameter of housing d is chosen within .
