Drying pharmaceutical granulates, pellets and similar products involves delivery of the product into a rotatable transparent conveyor pipe (1), heating of the product by microwaves, and removal of the freed moisture by means of a gas stream passing through the conveyor pipe. An Independent claim is also included for an apparatus for implementation of the method. It comprises a microwave source (12) whose radiation is directed onto the conveyor pipe.
