An information processing system in which data acquired by a sensor can easily be utilized. Tanks (11−1 to 11−N) have sensors (12−1 to 12−N) indicating the remaining amounts, respectively. All the data sets on the remaining amounts of the tanks (11−1 to 11−N) measured by the sensors (12−1 to 12−N) are transmitted at once by a controller (13) to a second apparatus connected by a network. According to the data received, the second apparatus predicts the date when the remaining amount of the tank (11) becomes 0. According to the prediction, a material is supplied to the tank (11). The prediction is calculated according to the remaining amount of the tank (11) and the time elapse until then. The present invention can be applied to an information processing system for managing a sensor at a remote distance and processing information from the sensor so as to be utilized.
