The invention concerns a master cylinder comprising a body (12) delimiting primary (14) and secondary (16) pressure chambers separated by a secondary piston (20), means (24) for hydraulic connection between the primary pressure chamber (14) and simulation means (26), mobile (28) and fixed (30) means for closing the hydraulic connection means (24),borne by the secondary piston (20) and the body (12). The piston (20) is axially mobile between a neutral position, wherein the mobile (28) and fixed (30) closure means are spaced apart from one another, and a position wherein said closure means (28, 30) co-operate. Mobile (34) and fixed (32) stop elements, borne by the secondary piston (20) and the body (12) mutually co-operate to define the neutral position of the secondary piston (20). The relative axial position of the mobile (28) and fixed (30) closure means is adjusted when the secondary piston (20) is in its neutral position by adjusting the axial position of the contact zone of the fixed pin (32) in the body (12).
