According to the invention, a pump device (3) for conveying powder may continuously convey a reproducible amount of powder, whereby a compressed gas inlet in the conveying chamber (8) of a conventional arrangement of a conveying chamber (8) and suction piston (19) is disclosed and the suction piston (19) serves only for sucking the powder from a powder reservoir and the powder is discharged from the conveying chamber (8) by means of the compressed gas without coming into contact with the suction piston as the compressed gas serves as an air cushion between the suction piston (19) and the powder.
