Unit for measurement of a radiation field has a support with a number of sensors distributed in the plane of the support at angular intervals. The support (7) is flat and the sensors (17) are arranged along regularly spaced radial lines (19). Real time high-resolution measurements of the radiation field of an irradiation device are made by rotation of the plate type sensor support. Typically a rotation step of 1 to 2 degrees is used so that for a field of 180 deg approximately 100 steps are required.
