FIELD: metal working. SUBSTANCE: cutting tip is made on base of polyhedron with supporting surface and curvilinear cutting edges formed by crossing front surface with lateral surfaces having two portions; one of said portions is flat. In order to increase area worked by one tip, second portion of lateral surfaces has cutting edge whose projection on plane parallel relative to supporting surface is in the form of circle arc passing through apex of polyhedron defining cutting tip. Center of said arc, apex of polyhedron and crossing point of arc and polyhedron side are arranged in apices of equilateral triangle. Generatrix of portion of lateral surface with arc-shaped cutting edge may be inclined by acute angle relative to supporting surface and it lies on cone surface whose axis passes through center of arc normally relative to supporting surface and whose apex is arranged at side of supporting surface opposite to front surface.
