<p>A metal container (10) which has a coating film applied to the inner surface thereof and has a portion adjacent to an opening thereof having been subjected to a plastic working of high degree after the application of the coating, wherein the coating film comprises a first layer (12) which is applied to the portion to be subjected to a plastic working of high degree and exhibits high endurance to the working and a second layer (13) which is applied to the whole inner surface including the first layer (12) and exhibits high resistance to corrosion. Preferably, the first layer (12) comprises a coating material of an epoxy-phenol resin having a phenol component in a minor amount and containing no pigment and the second layer (13) comprises a coating material of an epoxy-phenol resin having a phenol component in a major amount and containing a pigment. The metal container (10) has an inner coating film exhibiting excellent corrosion resistance and the improved endurance to post-working leading to significant reduction of fine cracks and exfoliations.</p> |
