GTP-BINDING PROTEIN USEFUL IN TREATMENT AND DETECTION OF CANCER

A novel gene (designated 103P3E8) and its encoded protein are described. While 103P3E8 exhibits tissue specific expression in normal adult tissue, it is aberrantly expressed in multiple cancers including prostate, bladder, kidney, colon, lung, breast, rectal and stomach cancers. Consequently, 103P3E8 provides a diagnostic and/or therapeutic target for cancers, and the 103P3E8 gene or fragment thereof, or its encoded protein or a fragment thereof can be used to elicit an immune response.
