Roll stand has roll shaft (2) subdivided into two sectional shafts such that the roll after moving apart sectional shafts, is removed from shaft by specific distance in axial direction. Labyrinth-seal arrangement having two labyrinth rings, lies in annular gap (23, 24) between respective sectional shaft and bearing device. The seal arrangement permits shifting of sectional shafts by the distance.
