<p>A tracking system for individuals or objects within a selected region, including identifying the vicinity of the selected region in which the individual or object is located, and means for the individual or object to selectively provide information for the system, all done in real time. The system includes means (16) to selectively provide information to the system, such as a button or similar device mounted on a transponder (20) carried by an individual, the individual activating the button in response to a query or paging instruction from the system. The selective communication from the user may also include queries or instructions for further information from the communication system, such as an information request as to travel details, the location of facilities within the terminal, or goods or services for sale in the terminal.</p> |
