The assembly to detach a paper or cardboard web (2) from a roller (1), to lead it on to a further workstation (3), has a scraper (4) and air jet (5) to separate the web from the roller. At least one blower jet (9) is aligned at right angles to the web surface (2a) which was against the roller. A guide wall (10), with a convex curvature, has a guide surface (10a) at the same angle as the blower jet. The jet and guide wall assembly are after the scraper and air jet at the roller, in the direction (LR) of web travel.
