A medicine containing as an active ingredient a compound represented by the following formula [wherein X represents a single bond or optionally substituted C1−6 alkylene; and A represents optionally substituted C1−6 alkyl, optionally substituted C6−10 aryl, or a 4− to 10−membered, mono− or bicyclic, unsaturated or partially or wholly saturated, heterocyclic group containing one to four heteroatoms selected from the group consisting of nitrogen, oxygen, and sulfur as ring−constituting atoms (the heterocyclic group may be substituted)]. This medicine is for use in enhancing the effect of treatments for cancers the mechanism of action of which is based on a DNA damage. (I)
