PURPOSE: A method for automatically changing a copy paper of an electronograph copying machine is provided to copy a general manuscript on a copy paper transferred from a general tray, and to copy a specific manuscript on a specific paper inserted into a manual tray, thereby enabling a continuous copying function. CONSTITUTION: In a color paper copy mode, if a transferred manuscript is a color paper, a device copies the manuscript on a color paper mounted on a manual tray, and if not, the device copies the manuscript on a paper mounted on a general tray(S1-S6). In a cover paper copy mode, if the manuscript mounted on an automatic manuscript transfer unit is a final page, the device copies the manuscript on the paper mounted on the manual tray, and if not, the device copies the manuscript on the paper mounted on the general tray(T1-T11). In the color paper copy mode and the cover paper copy mode, the device performs the first step(S1-T16) until the transferred manuscript becomes the final page, and if the manuscript becomes the final page, the device rings an alarm sound such that a cover paper can be mounted on the manual tray, then copies the final page(S1-S16,T8-T11).
