PURPOSE: A method for sharing a retrieved telephone number in a mobile communication terminal is provided to set a function key for transmitting a short message as to a telephone number retrieved in a telephone directory mode and transmit the short message in which the retrieved telephone number and a storing name are automatically inputted according to the selection of the function to a corresponding reception telephone number. CONSTITUTION: If a user of a mobile communication terminal receives the request of the retrieval and confirmation of a telephone number stored in the mobile communication terminal from a specific terminal user, the user of the mobile communication terminal selects a telephone directory mode and retrieves telephone numbers(S1). If a telephone number corresponding to the requested telephone number is detected, the user of the mobile communication terminal selects the retrieved telephone number using a selection button and a control unit of the mobile communication terminal displays the selected telephone together with a storing name on an LCD(S2). The control unit discriminates whether a function key for a short message transmission mode is selected(S3). If the function key is selected, the control unit converts a current mode into the short message transmission mode and automatically inputs the selected telephone number and the storing name in a message field of a short message(S4). The control unit displays a reception telephone number input window on the LCD, and forms a short message to be transmitted to an inputted telephone number as a reception telephone number(S5). The control unit discriminates whether a send key is selected by the user(S6). If the send key is selected, the control unit transmits the formed short message to the reception telephone number through an RF(Radio Frequency) unit(S7).
