PURPOSE: A display part opening/closing device of an air conditioner is provided to cover a display part for the smart appearance when stopping the operation of the air conditioner. The door is lifted or lowered in response to turning on or off of the power supply of the air conditioner. CONSTITUTION: A display part opening/closing device of an air conditioner includes a door(75) mounted for opening or closing a front surface of a display part formed between front upper and lower panels of an air conditioner for displaying operation states of the air conditioner, the door being slidable to a side of the cabinet, a step motor(76) mounted at a side of the door by rack and pinion coupling for generating power to rectilinearly reciprocate the door, and a sensor for sensing the power supply of the air conditioner for driving the step motor forwardly or reversely by outputting electric signals.
