PURPOSE: A device and a method for duplexing a CPU are provided to simultaneously write data to an active shared memory and a standby shared memory through a shared bus by installing a BRCU(Bus Redirection Control Unit) controlling a bus direction in an active CPU and a standby CPU. CONSTITUTION: The device comprises an active CPU board(30) and a standby CPU board(40). The active CPU board(30) comprises the active CPU(31), the active shared memory(32) and the BRCU(33) controlling the bus direction by connecting to the CPU and the memory. The standby CPU board(40) comprises the standby CPU(41), the standby shared memory(42) and the BRCU(43) controlling the bus direction by connecting to the CPU and the memory. The BRCU(33) in the active CPU board and the BRCU(43) in the standby CPU board are connected with each other through the shared bus. The active CPU(31) and the BRCU(33) are connected through a local bus A. The BRCU(33) and the active shared memory(32) are connected through an active bus. The standby CPU(41) and the BRCU(43) are connected through a local bus B. The BRCU(33) and the standby shared memory(32) are connected through a standby bus.
