PURPOSE: A method for plating precious metal on nonmetal is provided which is applied to building materials such as tile bathtub, molding articles and other articles and obtains the maximum effect at low cost. CONSTITUTION: The method for plating precious metal on nonmetal comprises the processes of coating a metallic paint on the surface of nonmetal such as stone, tile, marble and glass; treating the surface of the metallic paint coated nonmetal with wrought iron or other metal; and plating a precious metal on the surface treated nonmetal, wherein the precious metal electroplating method using a metallic paint is performed by coating a metallic paint on the surface of a nonmetal and plating a precious metal on the metallic paint coated nonmetal, wherein metal particles are put into the metallic paint having superior adhesive property so that electricity flows through the metallic paint, wherein the surface of the nonmetal should be washed cleanly, thickness of the metallic paint should be even, and the metallic paint should have superior close adhering property so that a precious metal is well plated on the nonmetal, wherein the method further comprises aging process after the process of coating a metallic paint on the surface of nonmetal, and wherein the metallic paint coated nonmetal is aged at 50 deg.C for 10 hours or more under the dust-free environment.
