PURPOSE: A capacity regulating valve for a variable capacitance compressor is provided to prevent leakage of refrigerant gas from a valve hole into a decompression chamber properly by sealing a partition of a valve housing and a rod with a taper sealing plate. CONSTITUTION: A capacity control valve regulates pressure of a crank chamber(40) to change the capacity of a compressor. Suction pressure is applied to a decompression chamber(11) of the control valve, and a valve body(4) is operated through a rod(17) by a diaphragm(9) according to suction force of the decompression chamber. The opening degree of a valve hole(3) is adjusted by the valve body, and the rod is extended from the decompression chamber to the valve hole. An annular resin sealing plate(22) seals the rod and the valve housing to shut off the decompression chamber from the valve hole, and has the insertion through hole passing the rod. The inner periphery of the sealing plate is contacted to the outer periphery of the rod, and the end of the sealing plate is narrowed from the decompression chamber to the valve hole.
