摘要 PURPOSE: A method for performing high-speed handoff through setting a link between BSCs(Base Station Controllers) by passing an MSC(Mobile Switching Center) in a packet data service node is provided to furnish communication through setting the link the BSCs passing the MSC in case of an active packet session mode, so as to furnish a high-speed packet data service without data losses. CONSTITUTION: In an active packet session mode, a channel link passing an MSC(111) is set between an S-BSC(Source BSC)(103) and a T-BSC(Target BSC)(107), to set a channel passing the T-BSC(107), the S-BSC(103), an S-PCF(Source Packet Control Function)(105) and a PDSN(Packet Data Service Node)(121). Hard handoff is performed between the S-BSC(103), the T-BSC(107) and an MS(Mobile Station)(101). If the hard handoff is completed, user packet data exchanged between the MS(101) and the T-BSC(107) are transmitted to the PDSN(121) through the set channel link or received therefrom. In a dormant packet session mode, a channel link is set between the T-BSC(107), a T-PCF(Target PCF)(109) and the PDSN(121). The channel link set between the S-BSC(103), the S-PCF(105) and the PDSN(121) is released. And the channel link between the S-BSC(103) and the MSC(111) is released.
