PURPOSE: A rolling roll shifting apparatus for automatically performing shifting of upper and lower work rolls so that work rolls performing rolling of an actual material to be rolled in the rolling process in an iron works are led into rolling mill stands is provided. CONSTITUTION: The rolling roll shifting apparatus comprises a moving means(20) that is movably arranged at the inner side of a guide member(22) which is mounted along the upper surface of a retainer(14b) adhered to chocks of a lower work roll; a base(40) that is fixed onto the moving means(20); and a roll support member(60) that is installed at the base(40) and inserted between upper and lower work rolls so that the rolls are shifted, wherein the guide member(22) which is mounted on the upper surface of the retainer(14b) comprises a pair of guide plates(22a,22b) which are extended in an arc shape along front and rear corners of the retainer(14b), and horizontal plates(22a',22b') which are mounted on the upper part of each of the guide plates(22a,22b), the moving means(20) comprises a moving plate(24) and a driving pinion(26), the roll support member(60) that is installed at the base(40) comprises a pair of roll support members(60,60b), the upper surface of the roll support members(60,60b) is formed in an arc shape so that the roll support members(60,60b) are smoothly contacted with the rolls, and the roll support members(60,60b) are formed of a pressed wool material to prevent damage of the rolls generated when the roll support members(60,60b) are contacted with the surface of the work rolls.
