A support device which can be applied to rails (R) of railway or tram tracks comprising a bracket (1) having two attachment parts (6) for attachment to the rail (R) on opposite sides of a sleeper, a resting part (4) which rests on the sleeper and is set at a distance from the attachment parts (6), and clamp members (7) for connection of the attachment parts (6) to the flange (S) of the rail (R).
